Hi everyone- I once asked a question on here and found it very helpful, so I thought I'd try again with my next problem. :) I just got a digital camera and am beginning to understand simple tasks like downloading the pictures on to my computer, things like that. I was wondering though, what is the easiest way to resize the pictures so that they aren't huge, taking up tons of room? Do you have to have special software, or is there anything on my computer that can automatically do this? My camera did come with software, but it has no features to resize pictures. And if I do need special software, what should i get? Is anything free? Thank you so much!

What camera... what OS...

The software that came with the camera will most certainly do simple resizing of pictures... If you can't figure it out

Irfanview is a free utility that will resize as well as other things

get it here ... www.irfanview.com

I like EasyThumbnails free from

Great to resize a few (with a right click) or a batch for e-mailing.

You may want to keep the originals full size for maximum flexibility in the future. Your photo viewer or album software will fit the image to the screen regardless of how many pixels high and wide the image actually is. Once you throw away pixels by making the image smaller, cropping or compressing they are gone.

Enjoy your new camera.
