Hi,
I apologise for this misunderstanding but I promise that I'm not breaking any Uni policies. I'm really useless at networking and can't make my router work with the Uni network, it messes the system up as it appears to be a new machine and wants to be registered which it can't be as it isn't a laptop, its a router. I just want get rid of the cable and use my ipod.
The tech guys won't help as they are busy and to be honest its a petty problem.
I repeat I'm not breaking any rules and I apologise for the confusion.
Other people have this function built into the laptops, so it really is ok.
In future I'll take more care though
Thanks

Start Button -> Run ...

Enter cmd in the "Open:" dialog box and click the "OK" button.

At the command prompt on the command screen enter IPCONFIG /ALL

Look for the "Physical Address" entry for the Ethernet Adapter (assuming you are using a wired connection). That is your MAC address for the Ethernet interface.
