How do I create a desktop shortcut to execute a key combination?

Hi all this is my first of what I am sure will be many posts.

My wife is visually impaired and has trouble sometimes finding shortcut keys (main example alt+f5). I was hoping there is some software or a way I can create a desktop icon that will execute a comand like that? I see the opposite is very easy, to assign hotkeys to a shortcut, but not the other way round... any help? Thanks in advance

Wow Byteman, thank you so much for the info.

I'm on Windows XP and at the moment alt+f5 switches the display from monitor to TV and back again. Because my wife has difficulty switching between she nearly refuses to use the PC for watching stuff - I burn most on to DVD, but the computer is next to the TV - when I try to explain it just upsets her :(

I'm gonna try out a few of your suggestions and report back later today, thanks again
Byteman - you're a star - I got the free trial of hotkey master, set up the shortcut in about 5 minutes and just registered for $5!!! Works like a charm... I'll be back!
