How do I add non-default programs to the Autoplay list?

Like let's say I want to open a DVD with VLC Media Player. I go to the Autoplay options but only the default programs show up and I can't find anywhere to add VLC. This is annoying because VLC is better than any of the defaults, and I can't open it any other way than Autoplay.

That's just an example, I might wanna open audio CDs with Wavepad, etc.....

You should be able to use the selection bars at the bottom of the page
to browse for programs not in the list,in default programs.

I use Autoplay Repair to add entries to the autoplay list. Made for Xp, it works for me. I'm using Vista Home Basic.
