Hello.

Here is my probelm

We have 3 phone lines:
First appartment (10 floor): 1 phone line + 1 adsl line
Second appartmet (3rd floor): 1 phone line

We don't want to pay again for other adsl since the two appartment are located in the same building.

Restrictions:
- Can't use wireless because we tried a lot and signal didn't reach.
- ADSL internet fee is so expensive here ($80USD monthly).
- Can't drop a lan wire, this is strickly not allowed.

Benifits:
- Local phone calls in our city are free.
- We generally don't use phone lines, so it is okay that they are busy all the time.

Is there are any solution?
I want to ask can we use phone lines to transfer adsl signal to second appartment?
Or if that not available, can some computer from second flat connect other computer from the first flat to get dial up connection? (how can i configure this?)

Thanks

If you can get access to the telephone junction box in your apartment building you might be able to make a hard wired connection on a spare pair, effectively giving you a phone outlet in one apartment that is on the other apartments phone line. also, if you can convince landlord that your router needs to be at the junction box (make up something and buy the sup. a christmas turkey) and there is a spare pair, you can wire it from there. however, this could be a problem if there is more then 300 feet of wire between the router and the computer. there are signal boosters on the market to increase the distance, but I have no experience with them. (Ask johnwill or 10forcash.)

I guess if they can't run a LAN wire, it's doubtful that they'll be able to steal some pairs in the telco cabinet! :D

One possible option is to use the power line networking. Here's a page that points to some of the currently available products. Homeplug 1.0 Device Makers

If your power is all shared from a common switchboard, this might be an option.

Why? What does one have to do with the other? The point is that if there are extra pairs, they are already in place. Tying them together is simple and is certainly simpler then pulling cable through seven floors of a building. The power wire carrier is an interesting idea, except it will not work in the situation as described.

Oh, and isn't a switchboard a telecommunications device? Or is this one of those English/American things that I never get?

Specifically what did you try for wireless? Are apartments on same side of building?

I'm thinking if the building management won't let them run a LAN wire, it's real unlikely they'll let them tinker in the phone cabinets to tap into the wires. I suspect that would be a tough sell in 99.9% of the buildings on the planet. :)
