Hello,
I am trying to find an automated way of knowing which patches/hotfixes need to be installed on my windows xp machines over the network. Is there a command line or microsoft utility that I can use? Currently the only one I have is QFECHECK that I downloaded from MS website but is just gives me what I currently have installed-not what I need to install on my network machines.
Any help is greatly appreciated...!

There can be no possible self-contained solution for this. Without contact with MS, there is no way to know what hotfixes have been released and so no way of knowing which you are missing.

Maybe someone knows of an internet app that keeps up to date on hotfixes and notifies of their release.

Thanks for the help, I just recently came across the
MS security base analyzer which checks for the latest security updates to your
pc and recommends what you need to keep xp running smoothly in the background....
thanks again...
