At some point during my surfing, a program icon called 'Hot Videos' installed itself on my desktop. It's (obviously) a porn site. I've repeatedly deleted this and it keeps coming back on my desktop. This program is not listed in my 'Add/Remove Programs' list.

When I view the Properties, the 'Start in' shows 'Document and Settings' and the Target location is C:\WINDOWS\system32\ShellExt\CNTR.EXE -id 2

What suggestions do you have for getting this permenantly off my PC. Thanks ahead for sharing your knowledge. I appreciate it!

First try renaming the icon to something (like "lookforthis")...this will make it easier to find.

If you do this, ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE EDITING.

try going into your registry (start/run/regedit) and going into find and searching for the name of the icon. Then delete the keys associated with it.

Hope that works
