hello.. i open my computer. then i removed the power supply.. the next day. i put it back. when i turn the computer on... it boots with a problem saying hood lock coil is not connect 914

i have a compaq deskpro en...

can some one help me to fix this..:confused:

There are some computers that have a microswitch on the case to signify that the case is open. Look around for something along these lines, perhaps it came unplugged from the MB?

Some cases have a tamper switch that won't allow the system to run if the cover is off. Look around for such a switch, and see if the wires from it are connected to the MB...

look around the edges of the case where you took off the side cover. If there is a switch that looks like it senses the cover on the case, do not pull the wires but follow the wire leads coming out of it. If they are not connected to anything you have to consult the manual for the pc, to see where they connect. Most likely they connect to the Mother Board which is the large circuit board that everything connects to in the PC.
