hey...my computer froze because of a problem between anvant antivirus and using a cd (ex. playing a game). Other times it just froze but probably for good reasons i don't remember. Last time I was on (before I reboot) a file was found to be corrupt.....one in the Document and Settings folder (btw I have Xp home edition). I tried to reboot and it started up CHKDSK. Now ad-aware, avant, and blackice (firewall) are all glitchy. Ad-adware and avant have corrupt refrence files and blackice is just down right glitchy (saying, when I reboot, that there's another instance of the program already running). Do you think a spyware, ad ware, etc... caused this? If not do have any ideas why this happened?

sorry for getting back to you so late. I have updated Blackice and Ad-Aware, but now SpywareBlaster and Spywareguard (both from Javacoolsoftware) cannot update and gives me this message when i click update: There was an error getting the update information file from the server. This server may be temporarily unavailable, or there may be a conflict with firewall software installed on your pc. The update information may also have gotten corrupted during download.
I had reinstalled both programs, stopped Blackice, and updated with no success and the same message. I also tried this day after day...
Please help me!

I am not the best with Hijack-This logs. As far as I see, there is no problem, but you should wait for someone with more expretise in the subject of Hijack-This logs.

wow that's weird...
I use Earthlink dial-up and it comes with an accelerator program. This must somehow had an effect on the IE file that was corrupt which caused the CHKDSK. Now the update works ONLY works if the program is ENABLED, most time I put it in DISABLE because it had to degrade the quality of pictures for speed. Before CHKDSK the update worked with accelerator at DISABLED. Does anyone have any idea how or why this happened?

Apart from that I see that you appear to have Download Accelerator and the Earthlink accelerator installed and I wonder if there could be some conflict between them?
