Hello, I am new to pcs and I was wondering if there is any easy was to clear up my memory\ram usage because it is effecting games that run off of mainly ram. I tried to manually close some programs but they just keep coming back and using up my ram. If anyone has any idea on how to clear up my ram/memory it would be greatly appreciated.
Hit Winkey-R and type in resmon then go to the Memory tab. Here, you can see what is using your available memory. Have your game running to see how much memory it's using.
Also, go to Settings and search for "Startup." This will show you what startup apps you have and let you enable or disable them.
Note that having a browser running, especially with lots of tabs open, will probably use up more memory than anything else.

Your problem, probably isn't your RAM. 16 GB RAM is more than adequate for most computer systems unless you are doing a lot of professional video rendering projects.
Novabench can give you a quick rating as to how your system stacks up against others. I'm especially interested in the video benchmark. You might also run GPU-Z and use the Windows Snipping Tool to take a screenshot of the result and post it here.
Here is the Novabench report for my system as a comparison.

As MPR said, RAM is not your problem. On my Win 10 PC with 16GB of RAM, Windows will use 37-39% of RAM when it is idle, with nothing running. Windows loads as much of the OS as possible into RAM so that things run faster when you click on different parts of the OS. Unless you are seeing problems in game, then you have nothing to worry about.
I know my computer is good but it uses up to 30% with nothing open and I think that is what is causing it to lag when I play ram heavy games but I don't know how to fix it other than getting more ram.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your computer. It appears to be a quite decent gaming machine. If you are experiencing lag in online games it might be your internet connection that's causing it. If you want to see what's using your memory then hit Win-R and type in "resmon." You will likely find the most RAM is used up by your browser, especially if you have lots of tabs open. Run your game in the background and it will show how much RAM it's using.
