I first noticed it happening when my photo program stopped every time i tried to Browse images. I then tried a couple of other programs which stopped responding as well. windows explorer does it. I do as you said Control+alt+delete and end task. Internet explorer does not seem to be effected.
I have used system restore but it hasn't cured it.
I have run AVG internet security on a complete scan but when it gets to "scanning Registry"it stops responding as well, and so I cannot complete the scan.
