Hiya

Are you having problems with anything in particualar? If your pc is running a bit slow, lets take a look:

go to http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show other issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

In additon to Hijack, here's a simple quick way to check, use your 'registry checker' in windows;

Click on START / RUN / Msinfo32 <type

You will see the 'Microsoft System Information' window open. Now click on 'Tools' , and then click 'Registry Checker'

If registry is functioning ok it will return with 'no errors found' , if not, then it will attempt to 'fix' any error it finds. But it will not point out if there is spyware, etc, you need Hijack for that,

:)
Stacy:

What version of Windows do you have?

If you have a major registry problem, you'll likely get an error message to that effect or Windows will refuse to load.
i am running windows 98se
What kind of registry problem do you have, and when did it start? It's possible that using the SCANREG /RESTORE command in DOS mode will fix it. Windows 98SE saves 5 copies of the registry and you can use one of them(except for the oldest one) to restore the registry.
