I am new here...I attempted to find out how to fix a problem with my computer. The computer takes a lot longer than normal to open and execute files and commands and I usually have to reboot it. So... today I use this web site to look for a solution, it directed me to do three things, 1 & 2 were to download use scans from house cleaning and Panda. I did that ok. The next thing was to down load Hijack This, downloaded fine, but I could not open, needed a zip file thing a majig, got that somehow!!! Unzip the Hijack This and it opens a number of files that it has identified. Now I need to know what to do, I can not find the original message that I was using to do all of this but I remember it saying that DO NOT DELETE until I did somethings first.
Please help.

I don't do well with computers.

Oh yea, the original problem started two days ago when I attempted to down load Turbo Tax 2003. It would stop while down loading font files. The fix for this was to open settings, control panel, and delete previous corrupt font files, this is when I realized I had problems.
Thank You, Any one for your help.

If you have HJT already downloaded and unzipped, here's all you need to do.

Close all windows, including this and any other browser windows. Launch HJT and click the Scan button. When the scan is finished, the Scan button will have changed to Save Log. Click that and save the log to your HJT folder. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING YET. Most of the listed items are harmless or even essential. Wait for recommendations from someone trained in HJT log file interpretation.

Now open the saved log file... In the toolbar at the top of the window under Edit, select Select All. Copy (Ctrl+C) the text and paste (Ctrl+V) it into a reply in this thread.

What speed is the processor and how much RAM is installed?

When was the last time that you deleted the buildup of temp files?

When was the last time that you ran Disk Defragmenter?

When was the last time that you deleted the buildup of spyware/malware?

How many programs are loading during startup and running in the background?

Post your HijackThis log like Raybro advised. That'll tell us something about the problem.
