Hi there and Merry Christmas!!

I bought my son a new computer for today and I'm having problems setting up the network. I have previously had his laptop set up on a network that worked fine with no problems. I have gone to the network setup wizard and it states cannot complete the network setup wizard, the wizard cannot find your network hardware. Surely if this is a new pc everything should be ready to work?? I am no expert with computers, so any help anyone could give me would be great. I have a hub and there is an ethernet cable to the new computer from my main one. Please help as I have an unhappy son who can't access the internet!!!

Many thanks
Mitch:(

What is sounds like is no drivers for the ethernet card in your PC. Do you have the specs of the PC so I can try and locate you some?

go to Start> Run, type in devmgmt.msc then click on the computer name then click on the magnifier on computer icon.

Are you sure? If you are right than it is most probably turned off from the bios. Read the manual, it should say.

Can you take a screenshot of it please. Press prt scr when on device manager. Then open paint, press crtl + v and then save as a .jpg file. Can you then upload it here when posting

Hi

I cannot access windows update on that computer as I have no internet connection. I was checking on the settings on the computer when I start it, on the section that says ACPI settings it says:

Supend to ram - disabled
Restore on ac/power icss power off
Ring in power on - disabled
PCi devices power on - disabled
ps/2 keyboard power on - disabled
RIC alarm power on - disabled

ACPI HPET table - disabled

Does this make any difference to why I can't get it to connect.
