Ok I had some information messed up so I am pretty sure this is correct, I right clicked my computer and then properties to get this info:

Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.80 GHz
1.80 GHz
256 MB of RAM

Zone alarm pro
Nortons System works 2004
Windows updates all in order check daily
Clean my system out, run ad aware, optimize etc.

Ok soemthing wierd happen, my computer when I turned it on didn't boot to windows it just had a balck screen and blinked. I took it in where I bought it,
they called and said they found no virus, or hardware problem what caused this was unknown but they took my hard drive out put in a new one re loaded windows XP home , i asked for a new CD so I can boot if needed and I was told my old copy is fine. So a very clean system, now my computer does weird stuff, like when I am typing a delay happens and the words appear seconds later. My screen will flash only a second, my mouse pointer shakes at times and XP freezes up all the time it never did before. It runs like I have a virus but I checked with nortons anti virus online at the website and then trend micro.

The place I bought the computer said it was a software problem and completley re did a new installation.

Just keep asking becasue I am not by any means computer wise but can look up new information, hope this clears some infor up and please help again Thank You

My CPU usage is below <50

Try lowering hardware acceleration:
Right click on empty space on desktop, select properties. Go to the Settings tab, click on advanced in the lower right hand corner of that window. In the next window, click on the troubleshooting tab and lower the bar to about half way. See if you have any more issues.

You can also go to sart/run,type msconfig, enter.Click on the startup tab,you can uncheck anything in there that you don't need to start on bootup.Having too much stuff in there can slow your system down dramatically. The only things I allow to start on bootup on my machine are my anti virus and firewall.

Also go here:http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm
and check out the service configurations, there are a lot of services that you can disable to help your system run better and faster
