Hey guys, my computer recently started giving me pop-up windows every time I started internet explorer. Lately it's been getting worse, so I decided it's time to look into it.

I discovered that it was the xlime offer optimizer, and read that I needed touse Hijackthis to find and remove the culprit. Well, that led me here to where I hope someone can lend a hand! Here's my log of hijackthis after I have run Ad-aware.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Let's start with this ...

Run HJT again, close all open windows, put a checkmark next to the following, and press "Fix Checked":

Restart your computer, and post a fresh HJT log. We'll have some manual cleanup to do.

Delete these files:

C:\WINDOWS\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll
C:\WINDOWS\CSRSS.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\WHRJTEP.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Belt.exe

And this entire folder:

c:\progra~1\iesearchbar

You may need to show Hidden Files and folders to remove some of the above files/folders. Your version of Windows is at the top of your HijackThis logfile.

If you can't find any of them, forget about it.

Let us know how things work now.

Sorry for the late reply, these last few weeks have been pretty busy.

I'd just like to thank you winchester73 for all the help. I did what you recommended, and have been popup free since!!! You guys really know what you're doing.

Thanks again. :D
