So my hard disk was giving me a hard time. And I found out that it had 11 bad sectors. Then I found out that I need to run chkdsk e: /f /r /x command in command prompt. I did that and got this results, can anyone tell me what does this mean? Can I keep using this drive or do I need to send it to the company since I have 7 months warranty left. But given the present situation I am not sure when I will get it repaired.

If anyone interested in the backstory of what problems I faced before getting to this point, here is the unwritten post.

I was having problem with my hard drive since last couple of days. My hard drive would often freeze and show 100% usage in task manager while using programs like Photoshop.
Songs would buffer sometimes and sometimes won't play if I drag the whole folder in VLC but does play when I double click it individually in windows explorer. It also took hell lot of time to shut down once or twice. The monitor would turn off after shutdown but the LED and CPU fans would run for another 10 mins before shutting down.
But it also ran without any lag the other times, and software like Clip Studio Paint had no problems. So here was the backstory. Now the problem:

I decided to backup the files on my hard drive to my external HDD. While copying, the copy speed will go down to 0 bytes/second in a single file. And each time I try to copy it gets stuck in the same file. I found such 5-6 song files. But I managed to backup and also got suspicious of virus, so I cleaned the hard drive via cmd.
Now while trying to allocate space and create partition. Windows can't create partition if the "quick Format" option is unchecked which means it can't read the whole drive and do a complete clean. So I quick formatted and the drive was ready for use.
Then I ran Seatools S.M.A.R.T run and it passed. Short generic test, it passed. Failed in long generic test and fix all.

Then I used EaseUS to check for bad sectors and now after more than 2 hours of surface test i came to know that my drive has 11 bad sectors out of 1.9 B sectors.

So, is it possible to fix those bad sectors?
Window's drive properties>tool> error checking doesn't detectel any errors, so it doesn't suggest any fix. I already optimised and defraged once yesterday but it still shows that the drive is never defraged.

I can send the Hard Drive to the company for fixing but I don't think I will get a quick response due to the present situation. And yes, I still have 7 month warranty left. And I boot my PC with an SSD. This HDD was my game and software and multimedia storage drive.

UPDATE:
So there is no saving it now. I used HD Sentinel and Crystal Disk info. HD Sentinel showed 9% critical in health and just 14 days remaining and crystal info showed cautious.
I talked with the Shop and they said they will send it to SEAGATE but can't say for sure when they will get back the replacement due to the present corona virus situation. I have also asked them to provide me with a spare drive if possible so that I can keep using my PC to its Full capacity in the meantime.

I guess I can't deny HD Sentinel report as it is a reputed software. Thanks to everyone for helping out. Hope you all stay safe at this time of pandemic.

I'll update this post when I receive a replacement and will mark solved then. Thank you.

I understand it and spamming was not my intention. But my old post wasn't posted as it was waiting for review, idk why, I am not used threads and forums, sorry for the inconveniences.

I also tried to delete the earlier post but couldn't. Sorry again. Anyways, thanks for merging both the post together. [Bow]
It's fine. I don't know why it went into the approval queue either. We are watching for cases that are being sent there when they really shouldn't be and you got caught in that as a false positive.

Good luck with your hard drive issues.

Thanks a lot.

Describe in detail what you mean by the drive giving you a hard time.

All hard drives have bad clusters. 1460 kb less than 2 MB is hardly worth worrying about on a 931+ GB (953,344 MB) hard drive. 2÷953344 is about .000002!

Since CHKDSK said 'No further action is required' I think it's safe to continue using that drive but I would run CHKDSK say once a week to see if it finds more bad clusters, if it does you should consider sending it back.

What make and model drive is it ?

If it fails the Seagate diagnostics, Seagate is pretty good at replacing the drive if it is under warranty. At least they used to be 10-15 years ago when I used Seagates ... You can go through the RMA process online and may have an option for an advance exchange (where they send you a replacement before you send in the defective drive, but you may have to provide a credit card number, in case you renege).

First of all thanks for taking your time to read and reply to my problem.

Well, it happened about 3-4 days ago. My disk suddenly disconnected and reconnected after restart. (I was already worried for my drive as I was running out of space but anyways working in the red won't hurt it right since my boot drive is a SSD)
After that my drive would suddenly freeze up from time to time while doing photoshop, loading file in photoshop or browsing to certain folders like my song collection folder. If I dragged the song collection folder to VLC, VLC could not playing some sub folders but it would play if I play it manually from Windows explorer. While all this was happening I suddenly had the idea to check task manager and there my HDD usage was constant 100% when it froze up.
I had the most problem with photoshop 20. Illustrator 19 was working fine but I upgraded like 2days ago and it also started to freeze. But other programs like Clip Studio Paint and games like Sims 4 ran just fine without any lag which was on the same drive. And yeah it also kept my CPU LED & Fans on for quite few minutes even after shut down and monitor was off. It only happened 1-2 times, specially when I shutdown because the drive froze up.

After I decided to take this situation seriously and ran up all the test. I thought of backing up my data and while copying it to my external HDD, the copy would always freeze up and copying rate came down and stayed at 0 bytes/second at certain specifics files, all of those are mp3 from my song collection. Just 3-4 mp3 out 50 GB collection.
Anyways I cleared up my hdd, cleaned it with cmd prompt, but while formatting for new partition if I uncheck "The quick format" box, the format would fail. Anyways i checked the quick format and completed the format and my disk was ready for use again but I am not sure if I should?

Well, it is a Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD, that's all I know. If you need more info, I can check and tell you.

Yes, I ran the Seatools, it passed S.M.A.R.T and short generic test but failed long generic and fix all and asked me to run Seatools bootable to try to fix the problem. I was like yeah, I'll use it as a last resort if I really need too before RMA-ing it.

I have no problem sending it for a replacement since I have 7 months warranty left on my drive. But given the present situation of corona virus, I am not sure how long they will take to get back to me with a working drive. I have a SSD to boot but I'll not be able to do rest of my work just on my SSD since it is just 240 GB. So I was wondering if I really needed to send it for replacement?
If it still fails, I'm not sure I'd trust it. Like I said, they may have an advance exchange option. Check out their warranty/RMA page and see ...

Okay I'll check it. Thanks.
Better to be safe than sorry! Catch it while it is still under warranty!

Thanks Allan. I believe they also offer it on the RMA page because they want the results of the test to initiate the warranty process.

Yes I think I've seen that mentioned elsewhere Mark.
