Help all my programs keep closing.

I can not keep any programs open for more then a couple of minutes if that before I get the dialog that the program has performed an illegal operation and needs to close” Its sooo annoying. I ran Norton and found no virus, I ran ad-aware and Spyboot and cleaned all the spyware but nothing. Here is the hijack log if it helps:

nothing obvious
lets see what this shows
  • Download WinPFind
  • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
  • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
  • Dont do anything with it yet!

Reboot into Safe Mode
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
  • Click " Configure Scan Options"
  • Select " Run Add ONs" and then select ALL the options in the box below it, Press Apply
  • Now Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
  • Once the Scan is Complete
    • Reboot back to Normal Mode!
    • Go to the WinPFind folder
    • Locate WinPFind.txt
    • Place those results in the next post!. It will be too big to post so you will need to attach it to your reply

nothing obvious to cause it but a few suspicious files in temp folders

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox browser

Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera browser

Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
then

see if this finds anything

Click here to download Dr.Web CureIt and save it to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and allow to run the express scan
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found:
  • If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:
  • This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
  • After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit.
  • Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
  • After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.

Ok here are my finding ...

I ran ATF yesterday before I made this post and found nothing.

I ran Dr.Web but I couldn’t scan all the hard drives at once because it close just like the other programs so I did each drive individually. On my other 2 drives it found nothing but on my primary drive it found a few problems. Here is the log file.

InstallHelper.exe;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motive;Probably MULDROP.Trojan;Incurable.Moved.;
MiniBugTransporter.dll;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\WeatherBug;Adware.Minibug;Incurable.Moved.;
A0198964.exe;C:\System Volume Information\_restore{63FD1BDA-7D6A-434F-99C2-804DF4EF1A9E}\RP525;Adware.Cfd;Incurable.Moved.;
browser.exe;C:\WINDOWS;Trojan.Click.1255;Incurable.Moved.;
actskn45.ocx;C:\WINDOWS\system32;Trojan.Isbar.439;Deleted.;

And the Hijack log:

I had Norton when this problem first started and during the 2-3 years I’ve had it, it never detected anything. I recently uninstalled it since I didn’t feel like it was doing me any good keeping it.

It happens all the time with all my programs but mostly with IE since it’s the program I use the most. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when this started since its been so long but I want to say it started after a windows update. I stopped updating 4-5 months ago.

It could have been a dodgy update

my best advice is do a complete update at windows and see if it cures it otherwise it looks like a reinstall
