I couldn't find new member introduction, so I'll do it here :)
My real name is Roy and I live in HallandaleFL, it's between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. I joined forums for the things I use in my everyday life, and it's good to find the info I need, and also give some advices that I know, to help someone out. It feels good:)
I hope that someone will be able to help me, I searched all topics and didn't find nothing to related my question.
So here it is.
I would like to add 3.0 USB port to my HP all in one Touchsmart, it's almost 3 years old, Windows 7, which I like much better than 8
I tried the yogi tech support, but looks like they operate from India or elsewhere, and they priority is squeeze money out from you as much is possible. I don't mind to pay for services , of course nothing is free, but in simple question what do I need to buy and what kind of parts ( I gave them all info about my PC, operating system, hard drive , everything) instead of explaining what do I need , they would send tech to my home to take a look at my PC and then he would tell me what I need to buy, and that would cost me $150 , and then the sales pitch started that I need to subscribe they services for yearly fee, and it would cost me less to send the technician :)
I tried to Google it, but there is not much info as well. All I found out I need to buy some kind of card and attach it to my hard drive, which is very easy. But everywhere was mentioned that I need to have SATA hard drive etc.
could someone please explain what do I really need to have 3.0 USB port or may be few of them?
Here is my PC specifications :
It's HP TouchSmart 610 PC
Serial No 2MD14002D0
Product No QB911AV#ABA
Model # 610-1250xt
However inside the back opening where is additional USB ports and externet port, it says hp 610-1000
It has Windows 7 with Intel core i5 2400 CPU @ 3.1 Ghz
RAM 6 GB
64 bit operation system
If you need any additional info please let me know.
I really hope somebody will know what do I need for this PC
Thank you in advance :)

Generally the answer with All-in-One's is that you cannot do such upgrades.

In this case it might be doable but it's not easy or supported by HP. You would have to replace the a part in the system with a new HP USB 3.0 Front Assembly as described or shown here: https://www.google.ca/search?q=P+us...es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=HP+Usb+3.0+Front+assembly
But there's no guarantee it would work.

Now if you had a normal desktop tower than it would be much easier and you would just add an expansion card to an free slot.

Yogi support is all about getting your money and not providing quality service; they excel at marketing, I would avoid them like the plague. Find a local small shop and provide them with the info if you don't want to attempt the upgrade yourself.

Thank you very much for the advice.
Looks like it's not that easy , as it the all in one PC, went to the BestBuy today and tried to search anything that would help, I didn't see your post then yet. It's kinda fun to see which employees know something about PC 's and who doesn't know a thing :)
I am not computer guru or I wouldn't be able to build a PC myself, but I know some basic things, and I learned myself by searching and trying and so on.
One of the guys said, it's not a problem, took me to the shelves, and gave me 3.0 USB extension cord :D , I told him that it wouldn't work that I need to change the whole port, so he asked for advice, and yes, he said it's impossible to do that on HP TouchSmart :)
I knew there should be some way, of course as you said , if I would have laptop or desktop tower would be easier.
I started to think maybe it's time for upgrade to the brand new PC, saw the new Apple MackBook , really liked the specs , but I don't have much experience with Apple PC, just Iphone , so I am still thinking about the upgrade :) Not just because 3.0 USB :) but technology improves so fast that 3 years old PC looks slow and old to me :)
Besides that I don't really like the Windows 8, and I don't see any good All in one PC on market right now.
Thank you for the link, I checked a few websites and basically understood what I need , and how to do it. I think I'll be able to do myself, just will order the parts and that's all :)
Thanks again for your help!!!

There's tons of good all-in-ones PCs on the market; Dell, Lenovo, Asus, HP, and several others have very good models.

If you think all-in-ones are hard to upgrade, laptops and especially Apple products are much worse.

Why the need for USB 3.0? What USB 3.0 devices do you have?
Not much for now, but I can use to download movies to USB faster, and things like that.
