Headphone Audio input failure

I have a Dell Inspirion P70f, I recently got a headset with attached mic. At first when I plugged it in nothing worked. Searched online and found out I needed to update my audio driver to the Native Driver, after doing so my Headphones hear everything, however there is no Audio input via the headphones mic.

Do not know what to do and cannot find what I'm looking for online.

Any help is appreciated,

The headphone port appears to be a headphone/mic combo port on that model. I would start by installing the latest audio drivers from Dell. Goto the Dell support site, enter the Service Tag# from the white sticker on the laptop, and you will see a list of drivers available.

This is assuming you are using a headset with a standard 3.5mm jack and the Dell audio port (not USB).
