I miss that game :( I was looking to buy it again, but can't find it anywhere. You know where I can get it?

Anyways, try running in compatability mode.

(right click on the shortcut, then select properties, then select windows 98/ME compatability mode).

That should solve your problems.

Back in the day there were some programs out called "Turbo" and "Mo Slo", they let you run old software on newer systems by slowing down the processing speed for them.

I don't know if they would work on a newer system or on XP.

I have BaA here, I'll have to install it and see what happens.

I'm having trouble getting it to install on my XP system, I'll play with it a bit more before giving up and installing it on an older 98 system.

I haven't played this in some time now but I do remember playing...

Hey try CpuLower 1.0 at MajorGeeks its free and I have used it for months without any problems. Only thing is remember to speed up the CPU once your done with the game or you'll get mad fast!

I am not sure which one, but I believe that Sierra turned one of those "Antara" games loose as a freebie back a couple or three years ago.

Sorry for the incredibly long delay in replying.

I was finally able to install BiA and I can play it until I hit a combat scene and then it crashes part way through it, I did have the "quick" movement issue but was able to solve that using the "Turbo" program to slow my system down, it is possible that if I were to slow it down even further I could solve the combat crash issue.

I also ran into the color issue but that can be easily solved by setting your system to 256 colors first (the game even warns you about this).

I just don't have the time to spend beating on this issue now but if I get a working formula I will post it.

I was unable to even get the game install at first, I install another Sierra game first and was then able to finsh the BiA install.

While going back into my archives I did find Return to Krondor, that installs and play fine on my XP system.

And the freebie they released long ago was Betrayl at Krondor, a DOS game but very cool for its time.

Betrayal at Krondor was the original DOS game and it is older than dirt compared to the other two, I know it was made prior to 1996.

RtK (1998) works absolutely perfectly on my system which is currently an Athlon XP 2600+. 1GB RAM, an ATI 8500 and onboard nforce sound, it is the newest of the three games.

BiA (1997) will run but I have the speed issue, I haven't bothered to try to test the color problem by dropping to 256 colors yet. I only have the color issue when it gets to night time in the game otherwise it's fine. I was able to slow the walking speed by changing the settting to small steps in the game and using Turbo.

According to the NT compatible website no one has ever successfully played BiA on an XP machine.

I have enough old systems here I could build an old 98 box just for that purpose.

Or since I am a system builder and have access to the MS Action Pack software I have some copies of MS Virtual PC, I was thinking of installing that and then installing 98 on the "new" machine it creates, that would let me play with this old stuff without wreaking havoc on my system which I use for work.

I have been playing RtK for the last couple of days, boy does that bring back memories, now if I could only find my manual so I can remember how to do things it would be a lot easier.

Yes I love RTK, very good game only thing i dont like is it is to short! I can have it beat very soon depending on how many hours i play I guess..Im sure you can download the manual somewhere. I tried downloading MOslow i think it was called but couldnt figure it out because it came up as dos then disappeared. So I figured Ill just have to forgo to BIA, although an awesome game! Even by today standards I love it. I am in the process of playing divine divinity which Ive bought like 2 years ago but couldnt really play till now because I got a new computer and my old one had 188. Great game but I still miss BIA. Let me know if u figure something out

I finished DD last year I think, I didn't even know it existed until then, I didn't really care for the Divinty sequel, I tried the demo and didn't like it so I never bought the game.

I havent played the second one either, but some say its good and some say it isnt. Ive got a few I havent finihsed playing yet, In large part to me getting Sims 2 I bought dugen seige. Havent played 2 on that yet either, On BIA if you turn the colors down it does work..but i just leave it since u only have to worry about night and U can sleep then anyway. Not a big deal to me. I'll try that turbo and see if that works for me. The slowest I got is 188mhz which is way to fast for it. I wish I still had my 98 just for that game..alot of good games back then I think. Anyways if you find out anything besides what you have already told me...keep me posted and thanks for you help

Turbo allows you to turn down your system speed by percentages, you can run it at 1% which should be plenty slow.

I played the original Dungeon Seige but was disappointed at the lack of replayablity.
