I have a packardbell club60 running windows 98.I am totally demented every time i switch p.c on the logo sign appears & i am then asked to reboot with disk. I try to reboot & a error 7 no hard drive n\wah2.ico,computer incorrectly configured message appears & i can't get any further. I checked cables inside p.c nothing seems to be lose there has been no adjustments made to the p.c what so ever.
I really don't have a clue or were to look without someone explaining in idiot detail for me.
Please,please can anyone help me before i toss it in a corner.

Sounds like there is a good chance your Hard Drive has died. Go into your BIOS and see if it's recognized in there.

Another thing you can do is, if you can determine the mfr of the drive, go to their web site and download their diagnostics program. They run from a floppy and can tell you the condition of the HDD.

Thanks for your reply. Only i don't know whigh one is the hard drive & would it say something on it who the manufac is. I have some thing that says QUANTUM FIREBALL CX 3.5 SERIES If that helps.I am stupid please helpme.

Quantum is indeed your hard drive. They have been purchased by Maxtor. I looked around this site which linked from the Quantum site and didn't find anything about your CX drive. You may have to contact Maxtor's customer or tech support to get anything. You could also try downloading Maxtor's diagnostics program, PowerMax Here and trying to run it. It wont do any harm and the program will tell you if it's not compatible.
