I have a big problem. I booted my computer and I got a BSOD with no error or driver. So I used another hard drive to boot from, and my main hard drive doesnt show up under my computer. I looked in device manager, and it is there. Im using a program that will recover my data, and so far it found the partition, but I was wondering---

1- how do you read data from a raw hard drive
2- if i have a registry back up and i copy all of the files, then will the hard drive boot

Thanks! Happy Holidays

When you use data recovery software, it will copy the files to another drive ie you cannot recover files to the same drive you are recovering from.
I do not understand your second question. If the drive has failed, you are going to have to install the os on the new drive. Copy any of the data files you were able to recover back to the new drive.

Thanks for your response. In the second question I mean I have a registry backup of the damaged drive. If I copy all of the files from the damage drive to another hard drive, replace them after I reinstall windows, then enter the whole reigstry, will everything be operational?

Probably not. You might be able to do it, however the amount of time spent trying to get it working would be much more than just a clean install. In addition some files may be damaged, corrupted, etc.
One thing I always recommend is imaging software. With an image, all you do is install the drive and restore the image. You are back up and running in about 5 min.
