Pretty much there in the title. I'm mostly used to working on Linux machines, so I wasn't sure how to handle this. I noticed that on my C: Drive the space kept filling up rapidly. Figuring I had a virus (as I couldn't stop it in safe mode, and because my computer only really contained a few games) I formatted it and instaled XP 32-bit again.

However, having formatted, and having only installed Avast! and Malwarebytes, I looked back to my C: drive and found that once again it was filling p for no reason (in the period of a minute or so, the free space dropped by about 100mb).

Checking to see which folder it is that's size is increasing, I find it to be the WINDOWS folder (in the time it's taken me to write this so far it's ncreased from 1.41gb to 2.1gb). So please, tell me what's going on? Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like it's a virus and only a boot sector virus could do this after a format.
