Hard Drive (40GB) shows only 8GB

Issue: My 40GB Maxtor hard drive only shows 8GB in my computer C Drive properties. I'm moving this Disk to a "newer" PIII computer.

Request: I'm looking for direction to make it see it all. Note I am aware of some issues with BIOS's not recognizing the disk, although I don't know how to go about correcting this issue.
Any help direction appreciated.

Jim, regarding the old fdisk vs the new fdisk, correct me if I am wrong, but I think the 64 gig limit is IF any one partition is 64gig or larger, not the whole raw unpartitioned hard drive.

Since I'm not into music and video downloading I use dual drives, but smaller ones. 2 40gig or 2 80gig, hence I have never had a 64gig partition on any of my computers.

I used to keep two different copies of fdisk, but then asked myself why? The newer fdisk will partition hard drives regardless of size.

BTW, it's my understanding that the new fdisk is on boot disks for Win ME and above. Some boot disk sites may put the new fdisk on the Win 98 boot disks, but to be sure, I usually overwrite it with what I know to be the newer version.
