My Dell Inspiron 5150 with Windows XP Home is showing the following at startup. "Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused Windows Defender Service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support on how to start a service manually".

I tried the restart - no result. I tried Help and Support and can't figure out how to get the help I need to fix this. What I need are step by step instructions to follow.
