Hello all. I am posting due to a terrible issue that is currently driving me insane. I bought a copy of Halo MCC for PC from Microsoft Store, which is then downloaded via the Xbox companion app, or whatever it's called. This is the ONLY game I have ever bought through the Windows store and it may be the last.

My PC specs: 9700k, 16GB RAM, RX 580 with fully up-to-date drivers, just released about 2 weeks ago I think.

My issue:
Every time I load the game it tells me that there's an "AntiCheat Incident" and that there's a file with an unknown version, (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOT)

I have literally uninstalled and reinstalled this game 4 times over the past week or so, completely uninstalled the game, the Xbox app, and all Easy Anti Cheat programs, and even ran SFC twice, which found nothing corrupted mind you. I also ran the repair tool for EAC MULTIPLE times, but STILL nothing. The game takes several hours to download as its a 130GB file roughly, so I'm tired of uninstalling, redownloading, and reinstalling over and over and obviously not fixing the issue. I did attempt to reach out to Microsoft support, but as you may have guessed their recommendation was to "reinstall." Imagine that, ROFL.

I am literally going nuts over this as I have NEVEr had this kind of problem before. Normally I could care less about minor issues, however, since it can't verify the anti-cheat I am not able to play ANY KIND OF ONLINE with the game, which is really infuriating.

Does anybody here have a similar issue or know any troubleshooting steps that might help me out here?

Hi

It looks like its not just you, but I found this (blasted forum, can't get it to say the full site just Redirecting. Will add as a code)

Redirecting

Code:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/halo-mcc-easy-anti-cheat-triggering-since-last/a3d867c8-4e23-43d7-af1a-8f8c61f7ba39
Looks like if Windows compression is enabled on the drive you're installing on, then that causes the issues, as it thinks its a modified file.

Thanks

Son of a.....!! ROFL....that makes perfect sense i cannot believe I didn't think to check that. It sure was compressed, I'm in the process of uncompressing it as we speak. If still errors out I will do yet another fresh install and go from there.

Thanks so much, man. Instead of spending 5 days emailing MS Support back and forth I should have just come here first. rofl

OMG!!! @eddie5659 Youre a genius!! I love you...hahahaha. Man not only did the game run ok now BUT my download speeds have made a MASSIVE increase. I have a 450 mbps download connection (cable ISP) and most the time it was maybe doing about 12-14 mbps now its giving me almost 55-60 mbps and lowers to like 35 then back to 50-60. It took me less than 30 minutes to download it this time when initially took like 3 hours!!

FREAKING AWESOME JOB EDDIE!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, MAN!!!
10 STARS MY MAN!!

Now how do I mark solved nowadays?? It's been too long since I ve been here....

Fantastic, glad its all working for you and the extra benefits of download speed as well, which will help with online gaming.

Not looked at Halo yet, too busy on Friday nights playing Battlefield. Not the awful 2042, but the awesome 3 and 4 :D
