Recently I've built a new PC, buying all new parts except for my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660ti that I was using in my previous build. I'm keeping this until I purchase the GTX 1070.
My Specs are:
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz
RAM: 16GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz
Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660ti
Storage: Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 500GB
I play games that aren't that demanding such as CS:GO, Rocket League, Overwatch, etc. These games run beautifully on great settings for a few minutes of playing, and then suddenly I get unbearable lag. It's weird, fps counters show that I'll still be getting well over enough fps. My usual fps in csgo stays around 270-310 and then will randomly shoot down to 130-180 but it will be lagging as if I'm at 25. I don't understand what the problem is and I would seriously appreciate any help that I can get. Thanks
WHAT I'VE TRIED / INFO:
-Testing temps - Everything is normal and nothing is overheating.
-Rolling back/updating GPU drivers - still lagging.
-Ran memtest to see if memory was the issue - it wasn't.
-CPU usage doesn't spike and stays relatively the same throughout playing.
