i currently have a comp with onboard graphics and want to install a seperate graphics card, because it doesn't cope with the graphics of games
the motherboard is ASRock K7VM2 3.0x
processor is AMD Athlon 1800MHz
clock speed 133MHz
ram is 256 which i will be upgrading to 512 or do i need more?
current graphics are S3 graphics prosavageDDR
running windows xp

what is the best grphics card i should used, reasonably priced as well lol

i dont think you have an agp slot, so that may limit your avaibilty to get a really good video card. look for one that PCI and one that has about 32-64 mb's of ram, it will not be the best, but it is the best you can do.

512MB of memory is fine for XP. It appears you only have 2 memeory slots ie: 256MB per slot or 1x521MB stick with the others if you want to add more later. BIOS updates need to be done:

thanx for the advice, unfortunatly being in the uk i dont think they ship out here, i'm sure i can find somewhere over here that does that same card

Sorry. I should have realized it because the Asrock is made by Amptron which IS available anywhere here(USA). Usually, the Asrock mobo are in overseas systems. I posted in another thread for "zeddy", a fellow member of TSG living in the UK, and maybe he'll be able to steer you to some vendors over there.

thanks for ya help, couldn't find that one, but opted for a
GeForce FX 5200 128mb which seems to be working really well, it has made a vast difference to the speed of my computer for general use too.
