I use the gmail web application for email and like it. I also have the chat enabled but am having some problems. I changed my dad's contact to "dad" rather than his name in my contacts. But when I pin him to the chat list it displays his as his name rather than "Dad". I have also had a heck of a time saving or editing his contact name in my contacts. I think I have it now but don't know why it is displaying something other than what I have his name saved as which is "Dad".

Here is more to the story, I know what their registered gmail chat name is but it is not an email address. How do I get their gmail chat name into my chat so I can establish contact?
