I got a pair of

800-45's

and a pair of

800-40's.

All 4 are 256MB.

Can I use all of them giving me 1GB? Asking because I'm not sure sure if 45's can be used at the same time with 40's.

I think so but I don't want to say for sure. You should check to see if the 40's are compatible with your system; its not much of a speed difference and I would assume all the RAM would run at the slowest speed or even run faster without issue but its hard to say.

Try using all 4 at once and see, you can download a free memory testing program from www.memtest.org

Yes, I'd assume they run at the slower speed if it works.

Just wanted to ask whether the system would start up.

It's not for my system, as mine don't take them. I'm just selling the memory on behalf of someone on Ebay, so was hoping someone with more experience with RIMM's would know.

I think the Intel i850 chipset had issues with some RDRAM based on its latency, and speed too I think.
