I bought a gateway fpd1510 on ebay, auction said it was in new condition and worked perfectly, and the seller was a trusted seller with good feedback.
I got the monitor with no cables, and after about two months of hopeless waiting, i found the fpd1510 powercord (ac adapter) on ebay and bought it. it arrived today.
I plugged in this new sucker and ....
i see the screen flicker for a second or two. Whenver there is a jerk to it, it flickers, or if you tap it too hard.
occassionaly it seems to flicker on its own.
the very odd thing is... it SMELLS LIKE ITS ON FIRE!! like that electrical burning smell, but oddly still working seemingly good.
AHHH! I just switched monitors, i am now back on my old CRT monitor. the other one started SMOKING while i was typing this message!! I had to immediately unplug it, but it was the weirdest thing, it was smoking yet the air vents felt perfectly cool and the monitor was still showing a perfect image.
Don't know what the hell is going on here, any ideas what might be wrong??
