Hmmm... oddly enough, we have a wonderful yellow lab that chewed up part of my keybord - no joke. I got a new one from Dell and was able to replace it. It works perfectly except for one thing. My function key - which I rely on heavily - won't do anything. I searched for help but to no avail. Anyone know what the issue may be? Thanks :D

The keyboard is probably a different model, so you don't have the driver for it. It should have come with a CD-ROM that has drivers. If not, you can look at the model number (probably on a sticker on the back) and go to Dell's site and download it from there.
