Does anyone know if this sounds like malware or just a tech issue. My friend had downloaded a game, run it on their laptop and then transferred it over to their pc. it was a bin file. they were streaming at the time, once they clicked on the file (or maybe just cut and copied it to their desktop) their background became black and certain files on their desktop started getting highlghted. they force shut down their pc, unplugged it. when they turned it back on they couldn't press anything and have turned it back off now. they're certain this is malware, I don't know much about this but does it sound familiar to anyone and any tips to help them or maybe put their mind at ease?
sounds like malware. something like that happened to me but with a program i downloaded. What i did was deleted the program and ran a scan. I used Malwarebytes. Hope this helps
I assume then the game was not from a legal source? This is the price for such downloads.
the Malware forum can help troubleshoot the malware issue but you would need to be at the computer to do the troubleshooting. Are you able to be present that the computer?
