Hi-

I've got an HP Omnibook XE2 notebook, running Windows 98. I have Microsoft Word 2000. I'm trying to figure out a way to get the keyboard to type the French grammatical symbols. I've heard of two different methods, but neither one works for me.

One method lists codes that can be used in combination with the ALT and Shift keys. The other involves going to the Control Panel, selecting Keyboard, adding French Standard, and applying the change.

When I do the second method, a message box pops up instructing me to put in a cd of Windows 98 Second Edition. I have that cd, but my laptop cannot find the required file in it. I've tried browsing, and tried copying the exact file name into the search field, with no success.

Do you know why I might be having this problem? Do you know how I can get my laptop to type French symbols? Is there any program I can install? I checked the Microsoft site for a download, but I couldn't find anything for French keyboard symbols.

Thanks,

Rita
