i just got a sony vaio from a coworker he said it was messed up but didn't specify what was wrong with it when i try and turn in on and i put the password in it goes to a black screen with a mouse courser that i can move and literal hours can go by and nothing if i try and open in safemode it will freeze when the windows help and support tab trys to open any ideas to help me get it up and ruining

If you have the product key, just nuke 'n' pave it. There's no point in wasting a lot of time troubleshooting an install which is obviously messed up, and it's better to simply blow it all away and start over.

What's the complete model number of that Sony VAIO laptop?
(Note: The complete model number should start with PCG or VGN or VPC, followed by a dash and additional characters)

What's the exact Windows version on its Certificate-Of-Authenticity sticker?
