I am trying to install XP Pro on a formatted hard drive. When I boot up to install it from the xp disk in the cdrom drive, it says it is checking and then the blue screen shows with the words
"Windows Setup" in the upper left hand corner BUT there is no info at the bottom that gives you options to choose from. There is nothing but the words in the upper left hand corner on the blue screen. It freezes here and never goes any futher. Can anyone please
tell me what to do?
Thank you very much for any help.

Is the CD scratched or dirty? If not, you might try removing all unnecessary hardware until the setup is done, including unused drives, printers, scanners, etc.

I unplugged everything from the usb ports except the keyboard and mouse, & rebooted my computer. Then I could install XP Pro, without it Freezing and the options were at the bottom of the screen this time.
Thank you for your help.
