I am using Windows 98. When i try to play freecell it presists some illegal problems, in the details it is given a message like this"FREECELL caused a general protection fault in module CARDS.DLL at 0001:00000903.

I have yet to see a FreeCell or Solitaire problem that wasn't caused by a conflict with something else running. Here is one way to find out what it is. Go offline and then do a ctrl-alt-del. End task, one at a time, every process in the Close Programs window except Explorer and Systray. Test FreeCell after each "end task". When it works, you've found the culprit.
