For computers that won’t boot try this

So my laptop wouldn’t boot tried new external batteries nothing, new charger nothing and different breaker in my house nothing. I was exploring the internet when I came a crossed an article talking about CMOS batteries. I read it and learned that the CMOS is attached usually to the motherboard and is responsible for running bios and booting the laptop. If you need to find it you can’t miss it, it looks kind of like a watch battery in a plastic socket. Anyway I swapped it and my laptop is back to normal. Hopefully this helps anyone with the same issues. It’s worth a shot if you don’t hear any mechanical noises, the caps lock flashes, pc won’t boot or you get battery error 601 I had all these symptoms when my computer malfunctioned. Good luck to all who are having computer trouble.

I recently came into the same issue with a Dell machine. I had to reset the Real Time Clock (RTC) by holding the power down from an off position for about 20 seconds and then it reset the RTC system. After a minute, it came back up. Since the CMOS battery also handles the time-of-date component, I will now check this if the reset doesn't work.

I had a similar situation with an old Toshiba laptop, it seemed completely 'dead', no lights or sounds or display at all. As a last resort I put a new Cmos battery in and it worked perfectly afterwards.

Well hopefully lots of people can see this so they can try to revive their laptop. It's such a shame this simple of a problem/fix probably leads to hundreds of junked laptops.

Ya it took me some time and since it was a struggle to figure it out. My hope is maybe some poor souls with the same issues might stumble into this and learn what I wish I had learned when I needed it.
