A few weeks ago, I woke up one morning and found this machine would not turn on at all. I'm not sure what caused the problem though. I toook out the original ps (it had no power switch on it) and put in another one with a switch. Upon swithing it on, the fans start up and the hdd led will flash constantly but the system will not start up. No beeps or anything else either. Does this mean the mb dead or is it something else?
Emachines 1.8 celeron with 1gb ram (will post more specs if needed)

I've seen that result with a faulty motherboard.

But you can try some things first. Disconnect the data and power cable from every drive, remove any PCI cards and disconnect all externally connected devices like a printer and keyboard and try powering it up.
