Somehow I've contracted the Firefox redirect virus. My little brother was on my computer and I think he may have downloaded a torrent program that was the cause of the infection. Symptoms include a very slow start up, anytime a link is clicked in firefox it redirects me to an advertisement or virus removal site, the inability to run Spybot or Ad-aware and McAfee runs very slowly if it all. I got it to run once, and ive tried the goorer remover, but to no avail. I even deleted the folders that the goorer.exe suggested, but the virus is still there. I tried to install and run hijack this, but it won't open. I tried using IE, but the same thing happens to a lesser degree.
I even attempted to disable any suspect plug ins or add ons in firefox and even completely removed and reinstalled firefox but to no avail.
Any suggestions?
