I just got a new computer for Christmas. I used firefox on my previous computer and on I just installed it on my new one. What is the best way to bring my bookmarks folder into my new computer?
I thought I could solve the problem by searching for the "bookmarks" html file located in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile
......but no luck

I could swear that this worked for me once in the past, but the bookmarks.html file just has links to "getting started", "firefox help", etc.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve

Your bookmarks should be in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx.default and you're right the filename is bookmarks.html. You can just make a copy of that file and put it the same spot on the new machine.

Get MozBackup 1.4.5 and install it on both computers. Do a backup of your profile on the one and then copy the backup to your other computer and do a restore with MozBackup and all should be the same on your new computer as your other computer. May have to install some plugins and extensions but it should restore bookmarks, mail, passwords, contacts, history, extensions, cache etc.
