i think firefox the new one, 2.0 screwed up my computer-the bookmarks wont save and google search on top right also wont work

then it got all bogged down so i deleted it and put back on firefox 1.5 but that also wont save bookmarks

then the thing says its been all updated do i want to restart? so when it comes back on it says its only firefox 1.5 2 or something

its very screwy

then ie seems to want to hog all the programs or at least for live365 and from an email it wont pop up-probvably if i made ie the default but ie sucks its so slow

how do i fix this?

You probably need to completely uninstall Firefox and reinstall Firefox 2.0.0.1.
If you have bookmarks that you want to save, go into your profile folder and copy your bookmarks.html to a location on your computer. Then completely uninstall Firefox including the profile folder. When you have installed the new Firefox, then import your bookmarks back into the new install.

I had the same thing happen to me but then I closed FF down and opened it again a 2nd time and it did install the 2.0 ok.

there seem to be no bookmarks in the folder ,just the ones firefox puts in, just a few standard bookmarks

yet all my passwords are saved when i delete all versions of firefox ,theyre there when i reinstall it

Go to your profile and look in the bookmarkbackups folder and see if the bookmarks are there. If so then copy one of them out and move it to your profile and rename it to bookmarks.

Get MozBackup that is great to have to backup and restore.
