After using IE for years I decided to try Firefox 1.5 a couple of months ago. After getting used to it and figuring out some of the issues with playing embedded video (had to d/l WMP plugins etc...) everything seemed to be fine. So I decided to upgrade to Firefox 2. Now I am having issues. When I go to Netflix and click on "watch the preview" for a movie it either 1. doesn't play at all 2. plays sound but no video or 3. plays the video which occasionally hangs or gets stuck and also cuts off about 1/4 of the video on the right side. Then when I click "close preview", Firefox 2 crashes. This has happened every time I play a preview with Firefox 2, at least 10 - 15 times (but not with IE6). Also, I don't believe Firefox 1.5 ever crashed on me. I've been to Firefox's FAQ and forums but haven't been able to come up with a solution. All their video issues seem to address problems with 1.5, that's how I figured out those problems. I'm hoping someone can help. Thanks.

no themes installed on Firefox 2

Firefox extensions:
Google Toolbar
Talkback 2.0.0.1

System info:
Gateway FX510S
Intel Core 2 CPU
6300 @ 1.86GHz
1.87GHz, 1.99GB of RAM
Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
Windows Media Player 11

I tried Firefox(Safe Mode) and still have the video problems, although it doesn't crash. Then I tried in regular mode, still video problems and now doesn't crash every time. But does still crash.

I do have all of those. I had to load them when I had Firefox 1.5 to get WMP to work with it. I just checked and they're all still there. It worked great when I had 1.5. Should I try reinstalling 2.0 again? Can I reinstall Firefox 2 even if it's already installed? Or should I uninstall it first? And If I uninstall Firefox 2 will it take me back to 1.5? Thanks for your help Augie65.

You can completely uninstall Firefox and reinstall it. First, download Firefox 2.0.0.1 to your computer.
If you have any bookmarks that you want to save, go to your profile folder and copy the bookmarks.html file to a location for later.
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.xxx
The bookmarks file is in default.xx(xxx are random numbers and letters) folder.
Application Data is a hidden folder, so you have to check Show Hidden Files and Folders from windows explorer Tools> Folder Options> View tab.
You could also try and create a new profile first and see if that works before you uninstall and reinstall Firefox.

I tried a new profile and it did speed Firfox back up but the video problems are still there. I also uninstalled Firefox and then reinstalled. This still didn't fix the video problems. So at this point I have just uninstalled it permanently for now and will go back to using go ol' reliable IE6. Is there any thing else I should do to make sure that Firefox 2 is completely removed from my system? I just want to make sure it is completely gone because I'm sure I'll give it another try sometime in the future, it's just not working for me at the moment. I just don't want any files interfering with a clean install later. Thanks for all your help.

If you followed the guide to completely uninstall Firefox, you should be ok. I can't test the trailers on Netflix, but on some sites you need the latest version of Quicktime to view them.
Like here.
Just a thought.
