I've been writing and keeping a lot of notes (notepad) on my computer in my documents. Saturday I deleted them them all in one sweep. Now I'm regreting that I deleted them. I've tried using my system restore, search etc and that still didn't get them back. Does anyone know if it's possible for me to be able to find these somewhere on my computer?

I have used Restoration with Vista when I've lost docs so I hope this helps. This article explains the prog:

"RESTORATION: File Recovery Freeware by Brian Kato
Restoration is a freeware program by Brian Kato that restores deleted files no longer in the Recycle Bin. The good news is that it works not only on Windows 9x versions, but also on Windows NT, 2000, and XP - even in NTFS! It fits neatly on a floppy, since it is only 406 KB in size (and the Windows 2000/XP version is less than half that size), but you can also run it from your hard drive. I recommend you be prepared to use either option.
You can read more about Restoration here and download it directly from here. "

By the way, when I'm working on documents, as an extra backup I use FileHamster. This from their website:
"
"FileHamster provides real-time backup and archiving of your files while you work. It enables you to monitor specific files on your hard drive and automatically create incremental backups whenever those files are modified. It also enables you to store notes about the changes that have been made, allowing you to quickly locate a specific revision or provide a detailed account of the work you've done on a project.
It has many features, but is very easy to use and does not require any technical expertise - just point it to the directory or file you want to monitor/backup and it will do the rest."

I hope this is of help.
