Every time I log on to the Internet or occasionally when I start up my computer, the"Find All Files" box pops up and multiplies endlessly, one box on the screen and gazillions minimized at the bottom.I click to close and sometimes I can get rid of all of the boxes, other times they just keep multiplying. Is this a virus or a problem with Windows 95 itself?

Googoo,

I was able to duplicate your situation by using the hotkey for 'find all files', (pressing the 'windows key' plus the letter F)

I held them down for a couple seconds and had at least 75 "find all file' pop ups boiling over in my toolbar. And it was a hassle deleting them all ....

Check that you don't have anymore sugar around your 'windows' key, and the letter F,

The windows key has the windows logo on it.

Use 70% isopropyl alcohol to swab those areas

I also have an ancient Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro 440 , like win95, 133, , but, alas I found a 'windows' key but not where it should be, it was on the top row all the way to the right. . very hard to find, but in that position it wouldn't be a problem here,

But you still got all the FN (finesse) keys in the lower left corner, any of them could trigger something chaotic,

The keys on it kind of float around on a light spring, anything that gets underneath could create this problem too. For that, you need some compressed air [for pc's] and just blast away until all the debris blows out,

Try attaching another external keyboard, just plug it in the back in the PS\2 socket, on mine it's next to the fan next to the external power supply, just borrow one from another pc,

:)
