To set up a shared folder:
1. Right click on the WiFi or Network button in the bottom right systray, Select 'Open network and internet settings'
2. Click on Change connection properties
3. At Network Profile, select the Private radio button.
4. Create a new folder somewhere. For example, underneath Documents
5. Right click on the folder, choose Properties, then Sharing tab
6. Click on Advanced Shareing button
7. Checkmark 'Share this folder'
8. Click on Permissions button. There should be an group named Everyone on the top pane
9. On the bottom pane, make sure the group has Read permission. Click OK.
10. Back on the Sharing tab, write down the Network Path shown. You will need this later.
11 click Network & Sharing Center
12. Click to expand Private section.
13. Make sure that the radio button labeled 'Turn on file and printer sharing' is selected
14. Make sure that Turn on Network Discovery is selected
a. On the other PCs that want to connect to the above Folder Share: Do steps 1 to 3 above.
b. Go to Control Panel > Network & Sharing Center.
c, Expand Private section. Make sure that 'Turn on network discovery' is selected
b. Open File Explorer, click on This PC on the left
c. Click on Computer, at the top menu bar ( next to File )
d. Click on Map network drive
e. In the input space labled Folder, type in the Network Path you copied down in step 10.
