i've had another invalid page fault with kernel 32 and also a fatal exception in oe at 0028:c02a27a8 in vxd vwin32(05) for which there is no reference. another odd thing that happens more than anything else is when i try to open a new window in ie, it's blank and inactive, and it won't close(message says it's busy, or active x is busy) until finally after several 3 fingered salutes it closes everything so that i'm looking at my desktop. i'm still connected on line, however. ??? and just now when i inserted the smiley i got: 0028:c1bdc3b7 in vxd afvxd(01) + 00001637 called from 0028:c19a008a in vxd vtd1(01) + 000000ba(haven't researched this last one yet). also i found this article. most recent ipfs:

Here are some articles to get you started:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/windows/topics/errormsg/emresctr.asp

AND: http://www.all-windows.com/kernel32.html

“Invalid Page Faults and General Protection Faults in Kernel32.DLL are generally caused by a lack of system resources, out of date video drivers, or a corrupt swap/paging file.” (from Netscape)

First eliminate the resource possibility. If you don’t have a constant running resource indication put the Windows resource meter in the tray. Start>Programs>Accessories>System tools> Resource meter. Copy it into the startup group. If resources are low when you get the page faults you have probably isolated the problem.

Swap file – Delete the WIN386.SWP from you Windows folder and reboot. It will build a new swap file.

I think you addressed the video drivers in another thread.

Viruses and spyware can cause them too. Run a thorough scan with Ad-Aware and a complete AV scan with “all files” selected.

Hi... I wonder have you done all your system updates .

There is a program called BigFix available to download free at

http://bigfix.com/website/index.html

its a very good program!

The BigFix® Solution
Our three founding Ph.D.s envisioned a new process called i-prevention™ which leverages the Internet and modern PCs as a means to proactively solve PC problems before they occur. At a conceptual level, the BigFix process establishes a new mode of structured mass communications between organizations and large bodies of customers.

Try it!!

Hope it works for you :)
