I HATE baseball. It's a stupid game. I'll play it if I must, but I'd rather play soccer, hockey, football, anything but stupid baseball...it's just too damn boring.
Well, you see Gibble, baseball is called the "thinking man's" game and that's becaus there are so many more little intricacies and strategies involved in the game then other sports such as football, hockey, soccer, etc. The problem is you don't understand them. It takes a long time to fully understand and appreciate baseball. You don't have to have played it, but it helps.
Knowing the intelligent person you are, you would, if you put enough time into it, grow to love baseball for the cerebral aspects of it.
I'll admit it is slow paced, but that's part of the enjoyment of it. This is a game you can watch in an easy chair with a breeze coming through the window on a nice summer day dozing on and off. And being at the game is really special. Outside in the cool night air, smell of hotdogs and peanuts and all the other things that are so uniquely baseball that you just don't have in any other sport.
BTW--a hockey/soccer fan is on weak foundation calling baseball boring. There is very little if any drama in football, soccer or hockey. The game is pretty much decided by the end of the time period and only if the game is very close in score will the outcome not be a foregone conclusion. Baseball--entirely different. A team can be down by 6, 7 runs--whatever going into the bottom of the 9th and the entire game can change. No other major sport has that kind of drama because they are all based on time--if time runs short, there is nothing a team can do. No so in baseball. It ain't over till its over [as Yogi Berra would say!

PS--moonie, when I say "Yogi Berra", I'm talking about a famous baseball player not a picknick stealin four legged creature with claws and teeth!
