Hi,
I am looking for an external hard drive, with the primary use as a place to back up files from multiple computers, as well as back up mp3 players. I was hoping to get recommendations as to brands to consider/avoid.

I have been perusing newegg.com and found quite a few in the 160 gig range for about $69.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

I just buy an enclosure and install a regular drive. Post a link to whatever you want to buy and we can take a look at it for you.

It's a piece of cake to install them. It's no different than sticking a drive into a computer case, couple of screws and connect the power and IDE connector.

Either of those you indicated there would do you fine, and they're already put together, so that solves one tiny issue. :)
